Use Your Computer to Help the Environment
Here is a post that is definitely worth recycling (forgive me for that!). As part of Blog Action Day on October 15th 2007, The Productivity Blog posted an article on helping the environment my using your computer. The idea for Blog Action Day is using the bloggers mass action as a concept; a mass of blog posts on one single day on the same subject – having some sort of lasting effect. The aim is to push an issue onto the table for discussion, the issue this year being “the environment”.
Most of these ideas are fantastically simple and involve using the Internet. They include online shopping and bill paying. Find useful recipes and read the net version of your morning paper. Find quicker routes for your journeys and then look up train and bus times. Download books and use notepad instead of a written journal. The one that I like the best is ‘Work from your home’. If only it were that simple.
It is worth mentioning another post at this point, from Copyblogger. How Tiny Actions Can Save the World is a fantastically written post that also links to the jam packed 52 ways from the Frugalist.
